Faq’s

1. Do you accept students without prior experience?  YES.  Remember, everyone has a first day.  Whether you have trained in martial arts before or you are a complete beginner, you will find a home here at FAA.

2.  Do you have testings?  Or are there testing fees?  We do offer ranking in the BJJ and Filipino Martial Arts program.  Since we do not have formal testings, we do not have rank testing fees.  Promotions in either program are based on one or a combination of the following:  game and technique development and progression, application during competition, and attitude.

3.  I am interested in self defense, what program would be best for me?  Here at FAA, we believe that every program should offer our clients with an efficient self defense program.  As a result, all of our programs will provide you with the essential tools you need to defend yourself.

4.  Do you bind students to enrollment contracts?  NO.  Instead of binding students to contracts, we have an automatic withdrawal program.  If for some reason you need to cancel your dues (either permanently or temporarily), we do require notice prior to the first of the month.

5.  Do I have to compete in tournaments?  As a student at FAA, you are under no obligation to compete; however, we do promote tournament competition, as it can be a valuable tool in the development of your martial arts skills.

6.  Can women and children participate?  Women are strongly encouraged to participate in all of our programs.  Fighting Arts Academy will begin offering a monthly womens’ self defense seminar series in the near future.  Since there is not yet a dedicated children’s class, children are allowed to participate in the adult classes under certain circumstances:  if an adult family member enrolls in the same classes as the child and they attend those classes together, the child may participate fully; all other scenarios require us to evaluate the child on an individual basis in order to ensure that their maturity level and focus will not be a distraction to the other students.
